This piece from the 2018 Chinese Year of the Dog collection “Longing for a Pure Existence” encompasses all the elements of respect and admiration with the zodiac theme of loyalty and kindness.  While the circular shape of the glasswork in its entirety represents the world, a tiered sphere in the upper-right symbolizes the sun and, by extension, all life that thrives underneath it.  The two subjects (Pekingese) are set in stark contrast, with one figure being strong, muscular, and commanding power, and the other smaller figure gazing upwards with reverence.  Together, in a compassionate harmony, they convey the message of loyalty through the ages and through the many generations.  Together, they represent all the kindness, heritage, and success that is shared from era to era, from generation to generation.
