Chinese Traditional and Contemporary Vessel Design

The vessel in ancient Chinese heritage (or “ding”) is a symbol and artistic leitmotif that has transgressed the ages and been passed down to present day.  Inspired by this heritage, this piece, titled “Celebratory Ding,” combines some of the older designs as well modern aesthetic to compose a stunning art piece for the culturally rich and progressive home.   Dragon patterns can be found on the piece’s two wings, while its three legs hold it upward toward the heavens, following suit with the traditions that inspired it.

The scrolling grass dragon motif morphs into the ding's two handles and appear as a pair of wings in flight.  The two dragons are protectors, blessings for peace and tranquility.
