Design Description: The Flaming Parrot, a vibrant subspecies of the tulip family, inspires this radiant crystal sculpture. “Sunny Day” captures the fleeting moment of a flower dancing in a spring breeze, its petals unfurling with bold and fiery color. Crafted in two separate parts—flower and stalk—each is formed individually, fired at different temperatures, and finally fused together in a single kiln to create a seamless, flowing form. The petals, made from powdered crystal glass, shimmer with layered tones of red, orange, and yellow, echoing the intensity of flame and sunlight. After numerous refinements in the studio, the final artwork reveals a mastery of both technique and emotion. More than a depiction of a flower, this sculpture symbolizes passion, unrestrained spirit, and creative freedom—an ode to the courage of expressing one’s inner fire. A Chinese LIULI Flower collection is a poetic reflection of Loretta H. Yang’s inner world, where each bloom represents a moment in her life and spiritual journey. Using the delicate and demanding pâte-de-verre technique, she crafts large-scale glass flowers that blur the line between reality and imagination—expressing vulnerability, compassion, and strength through a fragile medium. The flowers are formed in multiple parts and joined through complex firing methods, ensuring seamless beauty from every angle. Rich in layered colors inspired by ink landscapes, each piece captures the rhythm and soul of nature. Rooted in Eastern philosophy and organic design, the collection is not just an homage to botanical form but a profound meditation on life, emotion, and the eternal. |
